Friends of Ignatius

We are a welcoming community of Spiritual Directors grounded in the Ignatian tradition.

Friends of Ignatius exists to encourage, support and provide professional development to those offering spiritual direction and accompanying others through the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius of Loyola in Aotearoa New Zealand.

We work in close connection with Ignatian Spirituality NZ, who offer the formation in New-Zealand through their Te Wairua Mahi course.

Membership Details

💵 Annual Fee

$50 per year

✅ Eligibility

You are welcome if any of the following apply:

  • You are a graduate of Te Wairua Mahi or the Arrupe Programme (2015/2016) in New Zealand
  • You are currently enrolled in Te Wairua Mahi
  • You have completed, or are currently enrolled in, another Ignatian formation programme and wish to be part of this community

📜 Commitment

All members are asked to agree to the Code of Ethics of the Australian Ecumenical Council for Spiritual Direction (AECSD).

Ignatian Spirituality NZ is recognised by AECSD as meeting its formation guidelines for spiritual directors through Te Wairua Mahi.
